Return to Chernivtsi

It feels great to be back. I never thought I would admit this, but I’m a little tired of travelling. I have more or less been on the go since late January. I plan to spend the next few days cleaning some things out at the flat and catching up on my blog postings. I am way behind on some postings. I am looking forward to getting back into my routine of waking up and going to workout. I missed my minimarket and I missed cooking healthy dinners. I missed having clean clothes.

Today I went to workout and did 4 miles in under 35 minutes. Tailbone is still giving me a little trouble. On the walk to the gym, I couldn’t believe the leafs on the trees. It is as if they knew I would be gone for about one week and just decided to come on out while I was away. That's a totally self-centered explanation for this phenomenon, but I'm really, really excited about seeing green after seeing white for way too long. It was a nice welcome home gift to see them. Last night I couldn’t see exactly where to tell the cab driver to stop bc the leafs on the trees blocked the view of the number of the apt building (these buildings mostly looks the same, especially at night).

Afterwards I made a grocery list and did some internetting. I walked to the grocery store later this afternoon. When I was walking back on Vul Ruska, it was drizzling. I didn’t wear a coat today, and it felt good not to have to.

I received a text from the Embassy today, informing me that over 10,000 people had gathered in front of the Supreme Rada in Kyiv, and some of them had become violent. I’ll have to see what all that is about.

Tonight I made pesto pasta using some of the pesto I bought in Cinque Terre. It was good. That little pack that I bought should make at least 3 pesto dinners, so it looks like I'll be having that at least 2 more times in the next 50 days or so!

Heading to sleep…I am going to begin Elizabeth Gilbert’s new book, Committed. I loved her book Eat, Pray, Love, and hope I enjoy this one as much.
